COGNAC POETS & BIRDS - IBIS
Maison Camus wanted to pay homage to the most elegant and refined beasts of the animal kingdom, birds, by inviting designer Janaïna Milheiro to combine her mastery of artistic featherwork with Maison Camus cognacs.
The highest tradition of French creation has always been inspired by the wonders of creative Nature, and no beast is more beautiful and inspiring than the bird.

Poets & Birds
In the manner of the poet who sculpts and chisels words to arrange his sonnets, the Parisian artist adorns nine jugs with feathers which she transforms into Japanese Cranes, Scarlet Ibis and Phoenix. And Maison Camus has composed a series of bottles inspired by these emblematic birds, by selecting and assembling cognacs according to their age and typicality.
The highest tradition of French creation has always been inspired by the wonders of creative Nature, and no beast is more beautiful and inspiring than the bird.
With Poets & Birds, artistic craftsmanship comes together and offers a magical, twirling creation, which echoes the refinement of Maison CAMUS.
ibis
Eudocimus ruber, the Red Ibis in the descriptive and poetic Latin of the scientist Linnaeus, means "famous red bird", because the Ibis has a good reputation and its beauty is legendary.
Three bottles of approximately thirty centimeters in height and depth, transformed into Ibis by the grace of red feathers which, associated with Baccarat cognacs, underline at the same time the softness, lightness and robustness of this wading bird from distant lands.
Tasting Notes
Color
In its “topaz color with golden reflections”, the freshness and youthful expression of this Borderies cognac are striking, so much so that we forget the many years it has just spent in barrel...
Tasting Notes
Nose
Another character trait; Ring ; Deep and distinguished, the more you taste it, the more complex it becomes! Whether fresh, candied or dried, the fruits are numerous: apricot, plum, mirabelle plum, fig, grape, mango... We feel that Ugni blanc has been there... The spices are just as numerous: cloves, nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon, cardamom.
Tasting Notes
Palate
An extremely delicate, almost muffled touch on the palate... A touch on the palate which gives the sensation of biting into juicy fruits (white peach, mandarin). A palate touch that leaves a thin film of quince jelly enhanced with tender spices (cardamom, ginger).
Tasting Notes
Finish
Radiant and full of dynamism, it returns to its origins and its minerality (pencil lead) can now be expressed without restraint.
Delicate and nuanced, it lingers deliciously with gingerbread and cardamom.
30 minutes later...the empty glass highlights the subtlety of the wood (bourbon vanilla, Sichuan pepper) and the red tea reappears. Pure pleasure!
