Poets & Birds

In the manner of the poet who sculpts and chisels words to arrange his sonnets, the Parisian artist adorns nine jugs with feathers which she transforms into Japanese Cranes, Scarlet Ibis and Phoenix. And Maison Camus has composed a series of bottles inspired by these emblematic birds, by selecting and assembling cognacs according to their age and typicality.

The highest tradition of French creation has always been inspired by the wonders of creative Nature, and no beast is more beautiful and inspiring than the bird.

With Poets & Birds, artistic craftsmanship comes together and offers a magical, twirling creation, which echoes the refinement of Maison CAMUS.

phoenix

The Phoenix is a mythical bird, the fertile imagination of men is its home. No ornithologist will ever study it. And yet everyone knows its unreal beauty: its legs are decorated with rubies and its neck is fine gold. The Phoenix, at the moment of dying, after a thousand years of life, builds a nest of spikenard, cinnamon, myrrh and incense, lies down there setting fire to it, then burns, dies and is reborn in a beat of wings

This “firebird” has feathers of flame, and stirs the imagination. He embodies time, power and majesty. His quest is an artist's dream, which inspired three feather and crystal poems at Maison Camus.

Tasting Notes

Color

The bright gold with old gold reflections reveals all the earthy splendor of a Borderies vintage firmly rooted in the soil of the native land of the Camus family...

Tasting Notes

Nose

The nose first shows that the reputation of this Borderies cognac is not overrated, delicate and balanced it wanders from plums to figs on a resolutely pastry framework.
It then becomes slightly mineral before highlighting a basket of spices from nutmeg to pepper.

Tasting Notes

Palate

Remarkably elegant, balanced and self-confident, the palate is masterful. The fruits are full of sugars (pear, peaches), the spices, the wood and the minerality of the Ugni Blanc grape variety form an extremely harmonious trilogy wonderfully embodying the Borderies pastry “style” (lemon tart).

Tasting Notes

Finish

For the finish, it is a cappella that the Phenix finishes his recital, rich and complex it is an explosion of spices, fruits and pastries for a moment of pure emotion which continues to gain in complexity on notes of vanilla, coconut milk and exotic fruits (mango, pineapple).

“Maison Camus has imagined with the Brazilian artist Janaïna Milhero a poetic, airy, graceful collection.“
