COGNAC TRIBUTE TO NATURE
Each cognac is a celebration of nature, we invite you in this Ode to Nature.

85 million years ago, during the Upper Cretaceous period, remarkable geological formations appeared (Angoumian, Coniacian, Santonian and Campanian) which had a considerable influence on spirits.
By the character of the humus and its thickness, by the nature of the subsoil and the texture of the rocks, terroirs bathed by the meanders of the Charente and its tributaries were created.
The elements
Earth
The Earth is primordial and fertile. It produces terroirs shaped by the soil. Trees and vines take root in it to create, with the climate and people, unique landscapes. Limestone, clay or silica, the Earth transports its flavors through the vines into our bottles. Fossils and stones abound in it and because we have a taste for the earthly, we drink the cognacs of the Earth.
Decorated with plant motifs where lush vines dominate, it evokes the richness of the soils which nourish the grapes. In a sixty cm high lacquered cabinet, a seventy centiliter crystal bottle numbered 1/1 symbolizes the Earth with its gilding.
The cabinet that holds the cognac and its bottle is as precious as its contents. Because each box is unique, hand embroidered with fine stones which embody the power and beauty of the earthly elements. Each stone is a geological miracle that plays out across the entire surface of the globe between water, fire, earth and air. To adorn the interior of this box with satin embroidered with stones, it took the work of ten hands and between forty and sixty hours of work. This is how jasper, carnelian, tourmaline, yellow opal, obsidian, golden hematite, pyrite, yellow jade, citrine and hessonite were able to be woven into colored cotton and glass beads in a stunning rendering.

At all stages the succession of flavors is superb (quince jelly, 88% dark chocolate). The genetic heritage of Ugni blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard contributes to developing a warm creaminess with the freshness of fresh fruit.
Fire is a conquest that owes nothing to chance. Anthropologists readily explain the patience and accumulation of experience it took to use it for cooking food and warming habitats. The sun, natural fire, bathes everything with its rays, and ripens the grapes. The heated oak barrels impart the heat they have experienced to the cognac, and reveal the aromas of the eaux-de-vie.
Decorated with high flames, it evokes the heat and intensity of the flavors that the work of the cooper and the aging of the eaux-de-vie in burnt barrels have developed.
To adorn the interior of this box with satin embroidered with stones, it took the work of ten hands and between forty and sixty hours of work. These include yellow jade, hessonite, carnelian, sea bamboo, yellow opal and golden hematite, as well as colored rayon and glass beads.

Address, delicacy, balance, simplicity. Oak, brioche, vanilla puff pastry, orange-apricot, pear and spices loudly claim the choice of reburning made by the Master Cooper.

The texture of the palate, rich and oily, offers a pleasant blend of spices, cinnamon and brown sugar which are the result of the contact between the very small reburned barrel and the great brandy of Borderies.

Beautiful persistence of the finish with spices which cling interminably to the palate, marrying pleasantly with candied oranges to end with a kiss of stone fruits...
the elements
the air
Winds rise from the West, carrying the salinity and freshness of the Ocean to the vines. Air makes up our atmosphere, fills the skies above our heads and powers the winds, but it also hides in the infinitely small of our glasses, where our cognacs breathe it.

Reasoned oxygenation, when used correctly, is a real bomb that Julie Landreau knew how to deliver with precision. Very nice arrival with a warm, suave and spicy palate, announcing a Christmas cake with sweet spices and a still warm tarte Tatin... Silk in the mouth...

Long and textural, the finish remains incredibly sweet. Persistent as desired, it leaves us in a contemplative state, bathed in the scent of grapes, spices and salted butter caramel. The natural class of Borderies…
the elements
the water
Water is everywhere, it is life, and spirits – these eaux-de-vie – are sublime metamorphoses. Spray from the Ocean, or dew from the banks of the Charente, water has a thousand forms and a thousand actions. It not only allows the roots of the vines to absorb the nutrients they need, to grow and grow, but also dilutes the alcohol in the cognacs before bottling to enhance the flavors.
It features undulating patterns of silver rivers and dew drops that recall the purity of this vital element that nourishes the vineyards. To adorn the interior of this box with satin embroidered with stones, it took the work of ten hands and between forty and sixty hours of work. This is how aquamarine, phrenite, rock crystal and kyanite were combined with colored cotton and silver thread in a stunning result.

The principle of “High Distillation”, time and the purity of spring water are the main players in this mahogany-colored Borderies cognac with red and greenish reflections.

The beauty, subtlety and delicacy of the subtle blend of fruits (oranges, fruits of the
passion) envelops the tongue and the palate. The exceptional sweetness and creaminess are surprising, everything is carried by the usual flavors of an old Borderies; oak but also a powerful spicy cocoa that has not yet been encountered…

The finish lingers pleasantly long, unrolling a thin film of dark chocolate with cocoa nibs and Sichuan pepper. Unique and exceptional, the blend is perfect, the balance is achieved.
If earth has a primordial opposite, air, fire has water; this distribution of natural elements which oppose each other two by two composes a tribute to the complexity of Nature. Rich in their contrasts, our cognacs respond to this incessant vitality of the world, to its diversity, to its transfigurations.
"If I have taste, it is hardly
Only for earth and stones.
I always breakfast on air,
Of rock, of coals, of iron"
Arthur Rimbaud
This box is the centerpiece since it assembles the four elements and merges them harmoniously. Earth, Water, Air and Fire symbolize the quintessence of Nature and are expressed in every sip of these exceptional cognacs. A sixty cm high lacquered cabinet houses a seventy centiliter crystal bottle numbered 1/1 engraved with gilding which expresses the communion of these four elements.
The cabinet that holds the cognac and its bottle is as precious as its contents. To adorn the interior of this box with satin embroidered with stones, it took the work of ten hands and between forty and sixty hours of work. Around thirty precious stones (jade, lapis, crystal, amber, hematite, carnelian, agate, etc.) make up this embroidery and homage to the four primordial elements of Nature.
