Committed company
At the heart of the House of CAMUS, Les Ateliers Camus is the birthplace of the rarest and most exclusive cognacs.
This Cuvée, the seventh of its kind, is christened 4.186, a marriage of four powerful, complex yet elegant eaux-de-vies. The mysterious 186 in its name represents the sum of the years these cognacs have aged.
This year, as never before, we touch the empyrean where the gods dwell. Our Cuvée 4.186 is the rarest ever, produced as only 315 numbered decanters marked with the emblematic “Electrum”.
Cyril Camus’ ambition is to create a unique and non-reproducible composition of some of the most prestigious eaux-de-vie that are kept in the cellars of the House.
With this in mind, Julie Landreau - Cellar Master of the House of CAMUS - applies all her determination and perfectionism to the creation of exceptional rare vintage cognacs with a guaranteed provenance.
Combining floral, gourmet, fruity and spicy cognacs, she creates her recipes with meticulous care.

This Cuvée, the seventh of its kind, is christened 4.186, a blend of four powerful, complex four powerful, complex yet elegant eaux-de-vies. The mysterious 186 in its name represents the sum of the years of aging of these cognacs.
Electrum, like the alloy of gold and silver used by the Romans to mint their currency. Called green gold, when it is produced by human hands, the alloy is composed of 58.3% gold, 32.5% silver, 9% copper and 0.2% zinc.
Using this composition as a guide, Julie Landreau, our Cellar Master, has created a unique blend whose proportions are similar to those of the precious alloy.
A SETTING & A DECANTER
A timeless icon of the House of CAMUS, this BACCARAT BACCARAT decanter designed by the artist Serge Manseau reveals its curves and angular edges. Adorned with a golden fret golden fret that is reminiscent of the glitter of electrum, it is enhanced by a crystal stopper engraved in fine gold with the topographical curves topographical curves of the plots of land that surround the family estate of La Gîte. The case of the Cuvée 4.186 Electrum is embellished with a stone face engraved with a quotation from Virgil (70-19 BC).
To enhance this unique blend, Cyril Camus wanted to highlight the long history of the terroir where the family business has grown since 1863, spanning the centuries and linking the past and the present. The cultivation of vines in the Borderies dates back to Gallo-Roman times, when men and women, goods and electrum coins circulated on the Via Agrippa. It is therefore quite natural that the goldsmiths goldsmiths of the Ateliers Camus, in collaboration with French artisans, have designed a box that opens along a line reproducing the route of the Via Agrippa, from Lyon to Saintes. Making the bold choice to mix several materials, here metal, a material that serves modernity, meeting crystal and stone, ancestral materials par excellence.
