How to make an unexpected Margarita?
The classic revisited with our "Camus Twist".
Every summer is punctuated by moments we eagerly anticipate. An extended lunch, an afternoon by the pool, a sunset with a loved one, or an evening that stretches late into the night.
Each of these moments deserves its own cocktail, but not just any cocktail. Each of our "Camus Twists" reveals a new expression of a great classic and naturally finds its place in these moments of life.
The Margarita by Camus is ideal for lazy afternoons. With CAMUS VSOP and a hint of white peach, it becomes smoother, brighter, and perfectly suited for long summer afternoons.
A legend served in a glass
Like many cocktails that have become classics, the Margarita has an air of mystery surrounding its origins. Some stories place its birth in Mexico in the 1930s, while others evoke it was created for a client named Margarita or for a Hollywood actress in search of a unique cocktail.
Over time, one is certain: its balance has become a benchmark in mixology. Even today, the Margarita is among the most ordered cocktails in the world and continues to inspire bartenders who enjoy subtly playing with the great classics.
💡Did you know?
The Margarita consistently ranks among the top three most consumed cocktails worldwide. Its reputation rests on a rigorous balance where the quality of ingredients makes all the difference.
The balance of a great classic
- The Margarita has spanned generations thanks to its almost instinctive harmony.
- Lime brings freshness and vibrancy.
- Orange liqueur connects the flavors with a gourmet touch.
- Fleur de sel reveals the citrus notes and prolongs their expression on the palate.
- Each ingredient plays its role with precision. It is this accuracy that makes the Margarita a great classic.
When cognac reveals a new expression
Our "Camus Twist" is based on two choices:
The first is CAMUS VSOP. Its aromatic profile naturally reveals notes of ripe fruit, sweet spices, and vanilla, which add more depth to the cocktail.
The second is a touch of white peach syrup. Discreet, almost imperceptible at first, it extends the yellow fruit notes of the cognac and embraces the vivacity of the lime with a silkier texture. The cocktail retains all its freshness while gaining in richness and length.
Step by step
Chill the Glass
Fill your glass with ice cubes for a few minutes so that it is perfectly chilled when ready to serve.
Combine the Ingredients
Pour the following into a shaker:
- 5 cl CAMUS VSOP
- 2 cl fresh lime juice
- 1 cl orange liqueur
- 0.5 cl white peach syrup
- A pinch of fleur de sel
Then add a generous amount of ice cubes.
Shake Vigorously
Shake for about 10 seconds. When the shaker becomes very cold in your hands, the flavors have blended harmoniously and the dilution is just right.
Serve
Remove the ice cubes used to chill your glass. Strain the cocktail into the glass and garnish with a lime slice.
Your unexpected Margarita is now ready to be enjoyed.
The details that make all the difference
- Always squeeze your limes just before preparation.
- Prefer large ice cubes to preserve the cocktail's freshness.
- Measure the white peach syrup precisely: a few drops are enough to define our "Camus Twist."
- Serve immediately to fully enjoy the balance of aromas.
The finest summer pairings
This Margarita pairs wonderfully with:
- fish ceviche.
- grilled shrimp.
- fish tacos.
- burrata with white peaches.
- or simply some toasted almonds for aperitif time.
