Camus celebrates Black History Month in USA – Salute to Nikki

If you know me well, you know that I wear many hats throughout my day. I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend to so many amazing people who inspire me. 

Aside from wearing all of those titles, I have a rewarding career as the founder and CEO of a reputable marketing and communications agency, Tené Nicole DIY PR.

I was raised in St. Alban, Queens which is home to many middle-class but proud African-Americans and jazz legends. I come from a family of hard workers and was the first in my immediate family to graduate from college, although I get my entrepreneurial spirit from my grandparents. 

I built my company over a decade ago and my vision is to grow it into a multi-million dollar business. In order to accelerate that goal, I continue to pour into myself as much as I can. I am continuing my education as a 5th-semester student in pursuit of my PhD in communications, and intend to remain a student of my craft as my company continues to grow. 

When it comes down to it, I prioritize what needs to be prioritized…. When work needs to come first, I prioritize it. When family needs to come first, I prioritize it. When I need to come first, I prioritize myself, and I am not apologetic about it. I believe that when something is important to you, you prioritize it and you should make no excuses for celebrating yourself; no reservations, and no hesitations. 

I am making history every day by doing things that my family has never had the opportunity to do. The struggles my ancestors went through have paved the way to allow me to build my company and strive for a better version of myself. I owe it to those who have proceeded me to celebrate my heritage and my accomplishments; not just during Black History Month, but every month and every day. 

Salute to Camus Cognac for celebrating me and so many others who are making an impact in their communities.... not just during Black History Month, but every day of the year.
